I’m Melissa, a mom of 2 & in the best relationship with my kids father. I started crafting about 3 years ago and I absolutely love it. I love to repurpose, reuse & make old things new! I enjoy redoing old furniture & making it look fresh! My style is farmhouse/primitive/shabby chic. I also have a small side business cleaning homes. Then I also sub in local schools with special needs kids. I ran into Dawn a few years ago, I was shopping in a local business & she was working there. I hadn’t seen her since high school. She told me about her craft classes she had and I started going to them & then after a while Dawn approached me & asked me to start up a small business of our own. We’ve been working together ever since and Junque & Disorderly gals started!!
We love junk & Dawn is the disorderly one. Haha
My name is Dawn . I am a wife, mom,and an Oma. I got into crafting ,coming from a single income family. I repurposed items to so we can have old battered items to use for ourselves. It took off from there. I began having sales , goin to craft shows and people would ask me to help on an item they had and wanted make new a again. I always shopped at garage sales, my kids came along. As I gave them a little change to buy something and go to lunch on Fridays in the summer. That was our fun!
I began teaching others how to craft and do make overs and that is when classes began. Along with classes ,craft shows and flea markets .I opened a store and have other makers join me. I closed a year and half later when my father in law and nana fell ill . While working in a craft/ antique store a few yrs later, Melissa came in,we hadn't seen each other since high school and I invited her to a class. She came and continued to all of them. We just hit it off and one thing led to another. So many things she is really good at and we complement each other well. We have done shows ,flea markets and are currently in 4 locations.
We mostly do furniture and one of a kind items. We love all things home decor, we like DIY on a budget. Our staples to our business is our locally hand poured candles, and melts with no dyes, no chemicals and all natural wick.they are our best seller. Our country chic paint is also what we paint a lot of our furniture and projects with.55 colors to select from. The dips we sell our are so fun.they are great to take to party's,classes to work or at home during game day! People just continue to keep coming back!
Our love is mostly in our furniture, nothing is better for us to see a piece along side of the road and we snatch it up as it's screams take me home ! We breath a new life into it and find a new home for it! When we drive by homes and see our product on the front porch or people send us pictures of our items in their home! So satisfying.
